Gus Teja - Rhythm Of Paradise (2010)
Agus Teja was born in April 1982 and is the youngest of 4 children from Junjungan Ubud Bali. He studied Balinese and contemporary music at Institute Seni Indonesia Denpasar from 2000 till 2004 and is currently seeking to received his masters degree in art. From 2003 until 2008, Agus performed and taught traditional Balinese music as well as contemporary music all over Bali.
Agus Teja founded Gus Teja World Music in 2009 while at this time he created and tuned the Tingklik Baro (Balinese bamboo instrument ), Slokro / Slonding Chromatic ( Balinese metal instrument ) and assorted flute himself. In 2010 he released his first album called “Rhythm of Paradise”, Which has become one of the best selling Album in Bali, and continues to perform in a multitude of music festivals, as the world music festival and the ethnic music festival just to name a few.
Gus Teja World Music is an
ethnic music group that blends traditional musical instruments such as
slonding, tingklik, drums, and flute combined with modern musical
instruments like guitar and bass guitar. Gus Teja World Music features
flutes from all around the world, like the Native American Flute,
Shakuhachi, Pan Flute, Bansuri,Ocarina, and of course also Balinese
flute.
